An atlas on risk factors for multiple sclerosis: a Mendelian randomization study

Shuai Yuan et al.

Summary: The study found that childhood and adulthood body mass index were positively associated with MS, while physical activity and serum 25-hydroxyvitamin D were inversely associated with MS. Additionally, possible associations were found for type 2 diabetes, waist circumference, body fat percentage, age of puberty, and high-density lipoprotein cholesterol in relation to MS. Data from systematic review suggested that exposure to organic solvents, Epstein Barr virus and cytomegalovirus infection, and diphtheria and tetanus vaccination were also associated with MS risk.

Milk consumption and multiple health outcomes: umbrella review of systematic reviews and meta-analyses in humans

Xingxia Zhang et al.

Summary: The study found that an increase in daily milk intake by approximately one cup can reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease, stroke, hypertension, colorectal cancer, metabolic syndrome, obesity, and osteoporosis, and is also beneficial for type 2 diabetes and Alzheimer's disease. However, milk intake may increase the risk of prostate cancer, Parkinson's disease, acne, and infantile iron-deficiency anemia. The research highlights the benefits of milk consumption for human health.
