Mechanical properties and microstructure evolution of a CrCoNi medium entropy alloy subjected to asymmetric cryorolling and subsequent annealing

Zhaoyang Zhang et al.

Summary: CrCoNi medium entropy alloy sheets were processed by asymmetric cryorolling (ACR) with different rolling speed ratios and annealed at different temperatures, showing improved mechanical properties and microstructures. ACR1.6-processed sheets exhibited higher tensile strength and better mechanical properties compared to ACR1.2-processed sheets, attributed to grain refinement and deformation twins formation observed in TEM results.

From diluted solid solutions to high entropy alloys: Saturation grain size and mechanical properties after high pressure torsion

Tom Keil et al.

Summary: The study investigated the effects of solutes on saturation grain size and mechanical properties of the Cantor alloy and Ni-enriched variations. The results showed an increase in hardness due to solid solution strengthening and Hall-Petch contributions. All compositions exhibited a history dependent softening.

Microstructure evolution and mechanical properties of (CoCrNi)90(AlTiZr)5(CuFeMo)5 multicomponent alloy: A pathway through multicomponent alloys toward new superalloys

Hesam Pouraliakbar et al.

Summary: Thermodynamic criteria were considered to design and estimate the initial phase formation and stability in a multicomponent alloy system. The non-equilibrium cast microstructure displayed a metastable dendritic structure consisting of primary FCC dendrites and a eutectic mixture. Following short-term annealing, a network of Zr-rich phase was formed by the decomposition of Laves-phase structure. Tensile and compression tests showed the detrimental effect of structural instability and the dependency of rate-sensitivity on alloy microstructure.
