The performance of fiber GGBS based alkali-activated concrete

Nancy Hammad et al.

Summary: The study investigated the performance of alkali-activated slag concrete (AAC) reinforced with structural polypropylene and steel fibers cured at ambient room temperature. The results showed an improvement in compressive and split tensile strength with the addition of fibers, exhibiting early high strength development. Additionally, a comparison between ACI 318 and ECP 203 provisions indicated a more conservative prediction by ACI 318.

Seismic Performance of Steel Fiber Reinforced High-Strength Concrete Beam-Column Joints

Ke Shi et al.

Summary: This study aimed to improve the seismic performance of beam-column joints by reducing the concentration of reinforcement and utilizing steel fibers and reinforced high-strength concrete effectively. Experimental results showed that increasing the stirrup ratio, steel fiber volume ratio, and axial compression ratio in the core area can enhance the ductility and energy consumption of the joints, while the opposite is true for concrete strength.
