Anxiety and Depression in Health Workers and General Population During COVID-19 in IRAN: A Cross-Sectional Study

Leila Hassannia et al.

Summary: This study found that the COVID-19 pandemic has led to high levels of anxiety and depression symptoms in the Iranian population, especially among healthcare workers. Factors such as gender, age group, occupation (doctors and nurses), and potential COVID-19 infection status were all significantly associated with increased prevalence of anxiety and depression symptoms. Due to these findings, appropriate psychological or psychiatric intervention is necessary, particularly for healthcare workers.
