Cell-Laden Gradient Hydrogel Scaffolds for Neovascularization of Engineered Tissues

Yusheng J. He et al.

Summary: This study utilized a photopolymerization approach to create gradient scaffolds for spatial encapsulation of vascular spheroids, revealing that scaffolds with immobilized RGD gradients promoted biased vascular sprouting towards higher RGD concentrations. Conversely, combined gradient scaffolds with opposing gradients in RGD and modulus reduced biased sprouting responses.
