This study provides detailed descriptions and illustrations of six Japanese species of the genus Lecithocera, including two new species. One species is reported for the first time in Japan, with illustrations of male and female genitalia, wing venation, and adult appearance for all species.
Six Japanese species of the genus Lecithocera Herrich-Schaffer, 1853 (Gelechioidea: Lecithoceridae) are treated: L. chersitis Meyrick, 1918; L. daebuensis Park & Lee, 1999; L. duplicata (Gozmany, 1978); L. tridentata Wu & Liu, 1993; L. fascimaculata sp. nov.; and L. fuscialaris sp. nov.. One species, L. duplicata (Gozmany, 1978), is reported for the first time from Japan. The male and female genitalia, wing venation, and adult appearance are illustrated for all the species.
