Escherichia coli-associated granulomatous colitis in dogs treated according to antimicrobial susceptibility profiling

Alison C. Manchester et al.

Summary: Treatment guided by antimicrobial susceptibility profiling led to positive long-term outcomes in over 80% of dogs with E coli-associated granulomatous colitis. Widespread fluoroquinolone resistance and diverse genetic profiles of Escherichia coli highlight the need for further research to optimize treatment for multidrug resistant E coli-associated colitis.
