Association of SARS-CoV-2 Seropositive Antibody Test With Risk of Future Infection

Raymond A. Harvey et al.

Summary: Understanding the impact of serum antibodies to SARS-CoV-2 on infection susceptibility is crucial for identifying at-risk populations and vaccine deployment. Results of the study suggest that individuals with positive antibody test results initially had a higher likelihood of positive NAAT results, but this likelihood decreased significantly over time, indicating that seropositivity may be associated with protection from infection, though the duration of this protection remains uncertain and may decrease over time.

Association of Simulated COVID-19 Vaccination and Nonpharmaceutical Interventions With Infections, Hospitalizations, and Mortality

Mehul D. Patel et al.

Summary: Vaccination against SARS-CoV-2 has the potential to significantly reduce transmission and COVID-19 morbidity and mortality. Simulation outcomes suggest that removing NPIs while vaccines are distributed may result in substantial increases in infections, hospitalizations, and deaths. Higher vaccination coverage with less efficacious vaccines can contribute to a larger reduction in risk of SARS-CoV-2 infection compared with more efficacious vaccines at lower coverage.
