Older adults' vaccine hesitancy: Psychosocial factors associated with influenza, pneumococcal, and shingles vaccine uptake

Summary: The study found that older adults had higher awareness and uptake of the influenza vaccine compared to the pneumococcal and shingles vaccines. A lower sense of collective responsibility independently predicted lack of uptake of all three vaccines. Interventions should be vaccine-specific and emphasize disease risks and vaccine benefits to increase vaccination uptake among older adults.
