Vibration therapy role in neurological diseases rehabilitation: an umbrella review of systematic reviews

Lucrezia Moggio et al.

Summary: This study summarizes the role and effectiveness of vibratory therapy in neurological disease rehabilitation. The findings suggest that whole-body vibration and focal muscle vibration can improve gait, balance, and reduce spasticity in stroke patients, but there is no evidence of reducing spasticity in multiple sclerosis and cerebral palsy patients.

Summary: This study evaluated the efficacy of Robot-assisted gait rehabilitation (RAGT) for gait recovery in subacute stroke survivors, showing its potential role in this field, though further research comparing its effectiveness with conventional physical therapy is still needed in the neurorehabilitation field.

Comparative Effectiveness of Orthoses for Thumb Osteoarthritis: A Systematic Review and Network Meta-analysis

Nicola Marotta et al.

Summary: This study evaluated the effectiveness of various orthoses for carpometacarpal osteoarthritis of the thumb through a network meta-analysis. The results showed that all splints were superior to placebo in reducing pain intensity, with the rigid CMC-MCP splint ranked as the top intervention for pain relief and the short thermoplastic CMC splint as the best treatment for function improvement.
