The conditioned medium of human embryonic stem cell-derived mesenchymal stem cells alleviates neurological deficits and improves synaptic recovery in experimental stroke

Afsaneh Asgari Taei et al.

Summary: The conditioned medium (CM) derived from embryonic stem cells-MSCs administered three times significantly improves symptoms in rats with ischemic stroke, including reducing weight loss, mortality rate, infarct volumes, cerebral edema, and improving neurological deficits. Additionally, three injections of CM can restore decreased levels of synaptic markers in rats with ischemic stroke, suggesting a potential therapeutic approach through modulation of synaptic plasticity.
