Bridge monitoring using multi-GNSS observations with high cutoff elevations: A case study

Ruijie Xi et al.

Summary: The study demonstrates that integrated GPS/BDS/GLONASS provides the highest precision in bridge monitoring, especially with high cutoff elevations due to the availability of more satellites and strongest satellite geometry. Further experiments conducted show that incorporating GPS/BDS/GLONASS at a cutoff elevation of 40 degrees allows for extremely accurate extraction of displacement and vibration signals in bridge monitoring applications.

Feasibility of Using Low-Cost Dual-Frequency GNSS Receivers for Land Surveying

Natalia Wielgocka et al.

Summary: Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) have transformed land surveying by providing high-precision positioning information. This paper investigates the performance of a u-blox ZED-F9P receiver in multiple field experiments, showing satisfactory signal acquisition and accuracy improvements with multi-frequency hardware. However, challenges still exist in signal strength and accuracy degradation over time, especially under dynamic surveying conditions.

Testing the Performance of Multi-Frequency Low-Cost GNSS Receivers and Antennas

Veton Hamza et al.

Summary: This research evaluated the noise of low-cost GNSS receivers, compared the positioning quality from different types of low-cost antennas, and analyzed positioning differences between low-cost and geodetic instruments. The study found that calibrated low-cost antennas provided better horizontal positioning accuracy compared to uncalibrated antennas, and geodetic instruments outperformed low-cost GNSS instruments in terms of accuracy and precision in estimated coordinates.

Monitoring ground deformation of cultural heritage sites using SAR and geodetic techniques: the case study of Choirokoitia, Cyprus

Kyriacos Themistocleous et al.

Summary: The paper introduces an integrated ground deformation monitoring approach using satellite SAR data, GPS/GNSS observations, and UAV aerial images within the Choirokoitia UNESCO World Heritage Site in Cyprus. The study results show displacement rates of 0.03 m/year, indicating the importance of using long-term monitoring systems like SAR images and UAV-based techniques in assessing potential geo-hazards on archaeological sites.
