The economic value of freshwater fisheries in Florida: An application of the travel cost method for black crappie fishing trips

Joonghyun Hwang et al.

Summary: Effective management of recreational fisheries requires allocation of resources among different fisheries targeting various species. Economic value is rarely assessed in such management decisions. A survey on Black Crappie angler behaviors found that Florida residents have higher annual consumer surplus per angler compared to nonresidents, providing valuable insights for future estimates and management decisions.
