Interface-facilitated stable plasticity in ultra-fine layered FeAl/FeAl2 micro-pillar at high temperature

Lulu Li et al.

Summary: Fe-Al compounds exhibit a combination of high strength and corrosion resistance at high temperatures, but increasing Al content can lead to embrittlement. The high-temperature behavior of a novel, lightweight FeAl/FeAl2 material shows a transition from localized shear deformation to co-deformation with temperature increase.
