Evaluation of day of hatch exposure to various Enterobacteriaceae on inducing gastrointestinal inflammation in chicks through two weeks of age

K. M. Chasser et al.

Summary: This study investigated the impact of inappropriate microbial colonization on gastrointestinal inflammation in poultry through four experiments. The results showed that mild inflammation induced by early Enterobacteriaceae exposure may not significantly affect growth or inflammation parameters, but may increase susceptibility to opportunistic infections. Further research is needed to study this model.
