Confinement-Driven Enantioselectivity in 3D Porous Chiral Covalent Organic Frameworks

Bang Hou et al.

Summary: Three-dimensional covalent organic frameworks (COFs) with well-defined porous channels have been shown to induce chiral molecular catalysts from non-enantioselective to highly enantioselective in catalyzing organic transformations. By condensing compounds derived from enantiopure BINOL, chiral COFs with highly interpenetrated diamondoid frameworks were prepared. The COF catalyst provides preferential secondary interactions between the substrate and framework to induce enantioselectivities that are not achievable in homogeneous systems.

Postsynthetic Modification of a Covalent Organic Framework Achieved via Strain-Promoted Cycloaddition

Kelvin Li et al.

Summary: The study introduces a novel two-dimensional covalent organic framework that allows for post-synthetic modification through easily implementable chemical reactions, enabling quantitative decoration of the COF lattice with ligands without the need for exogenous species. Functionalization can lead to the spontaneous delamination of COF materials into solution-stable sheets, demonstrating the utility of this technique.

A novel N,S-rich COF and its derived hollow N,S-doped carbon@Pd nanorods for electrochemical detection of Hg2+ and paracetamol

Linyu Wang et al.

Summary: Covalent-organic frameworks (COFs) are conjugate crystalline polymers with high porosity and controllable pores, showing great potential for electrochemical sensors. A new N,S-rich COFBTT-TZT was proposed for Hg2+ detection and N,S-doped C@Pd nanorods were obtained for electrochemical sensors, both providing rich adsorption sites and low detection limits. These results offer important guidance for the application of COFs in electrochemical sensors.
