Experimental investigation on mechanical properties of banana/snake grass fiber reinforced hybrid composites

D. Balaji et al.

Summary: Plant fibers, such as banana and snake grass, offer advantages like lightweight, reliability, recyclability, and environmental friendliness. Hybrid composites with multiple fiber types allow for customized material design to achieve specific properties for different applications. In this study, polyester composites reinforced with snake grass and banana fibers showed increased strength with higher fiber volume fraction, while tensile and flexural modulus decreased. Fracture surface morphology was analyzed using SEM.
