Downregulation of Zn-transporters along with Fe and redox imbalance causes growth and photosynthetic disturbance in Zn-deficient tomato

Ahmad Humayan Kabir et al.

Summary: Zinc deficiency negatively impacts growth and development in tomatoes, affecting biomass, chlorophyll synthesis, and photosynthesis efficiency. The shortage of zinc also leads to reduced zinc and iron concentrations in roots and shoots, accompanied by the downregulation of related transporter genes. These findings suggest a complex interplay between zinc and iron homeostasis in tomato plants under deficiency conditions.

Biofertilizer-Based Zinc Application Enhances Maize Growth, Gas Exchange Attributes, and Yield in Zinc-Deficient Soil

Abdul Saboor et al.

Summary: Balanced application of zinc improves maize growth and yield, while inoculation with arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi enhances plant tolerance to zinc-induced stress. The combination of Zn20 + AM proves to be an effective treatment for better maize growth and yield.
