Regulation of Anthocyanin Accumulation by a Transcription FactorLcTT8FromLonicera caeruleaL.

Pei Liu et al.

Summary: This study cloned the TT8 gene from Lonicera caerulea L. and transformed it into tobacco to characterize its function in anthocyanin synthesis. The results showed that LcTT8 was highly expressed in fruits, and overexpression of LcTT8 significantly increased anthocyanin content and up-regulated key genes related to anthocyanin synthesis in transgenic tobacco, providing new possibilities for breeding fruit plants with high anthocyanin accumulation.

Anthocyanins, Microbiome and Health Benefits in Aging

Rachel Hair et al.

Summary: By 2050, the percentage of individuals over the age of 60 is projected to reach 22%, with chronic diseases associated with aging presenting challenges for this demographic. Anthocyanins and the gut microbiome have shown positive effects on cardiovascular and bone health, as well as potential in cancer prevention and treatment.

Novel approaches in anthocyanin research - Plant fortification and bioavailability issues

Jose M. Alvarez-Suarez et al.

Summary: Anthocyanins are important plant pigments with health-promoting properties, yet their bioavailability is low and influenced by factors such as food processing, digestion, and fruit content. Research indicates that different processing methods can affect the stability and biological effects of anthocyanins.
