Genome- and transcriptome-wide association studies provide insights into the genetic basis of natural variation of seed oil content in Brassica napus

Shan Tang et al.

Summary: This study deciphers the genetic basis of seed oil content (SOC) variation in Brassica napus by genome- and transcriptome-wide association studies, identifying genes and gene modules associated with SOC. A gene prioritization framework, POCKET, was implemented to determine causal genes in QTL regions. The study provides valuable genetic resources for improving SOC and understanding the complex machinery of oil accumulation in oil crops.
