Genome-Wide Identification and Transcript Analysis of TCP Gene Family in Banana (Musa acuminata L.)

Jingyi Wang et al.

Summary: The research comprehensively characterized the banana TCP genes, revealing their gene structure, phylogenetic relationship, expression patterns, and functions. It was found that the members of the MaTCP gene family were unevenly distributed on chromosomes, with segmental duplication being the major contributor to family expansion. Promoter analysis showed that MaTCPs are involved in banana growth, development, and responses to abiotic stresses.

Comprehensive analysis and identification of drought-responsive candidate NAC genes in three semi-arid tropics (SAT) legume crops

Sadhana Singh et al.

Summary: This study identified a total of 21 potential drought-responsive NAC genes in chickpea, pigeonpea, and groundnut, which showed correlation between gene expression, transcriptional regulation, and better tolerance against drought. These candidate genes could be useful for molecular breeding for drought tolerance in legume crops in semi-arid tropics.

Biochemical and molecular characterisations of salt tolerance components in rice varieties tolerant and sensitive to NaCl: the relevance of Na+exclusion in salt tolerance in the species

Amber Gupta et al.

Summary: Salt-tolerant rice varieties show lower Na(+) uptake and higher PM-H(+)ATPase activity, which are not prominent in sensitive varieties. These characteristics could be crucial for enhancing salt tolerance in rice varieties.
