Controllability of ferrofluids' dielectric spectrum by means of external electric forces

Michal Rajnak et al.

Summary: The broadband dielectric response of ferrofluids can be effectively controlled by an external magnetic field, and in this paper, an experimental study was conducted on the controllability of the dielectric spectrum of Mn-Zn ferrite transformer oil-based ferrofluid using a static electric field generated by DC bias voltage. The results showed that increasing internal DC bias voltage significantly shifted the dielectric spectrum to lower frequencies, while the external DC bias voltage was less capable of such tuning.

The effect of long time exposure to light of a water-based ferrofluid on its low frequency complex magnetic permeability

V Socoliuc et al.

Summary: This study investigates the effect of prolonged exposure to light on the low-frequency complex magnetic permeability of a water-based ferrofluid with magnetite particles. Results show that exposure to light causes the samples to exhibit Brownian maxima, unlike the reference sample. The change in magnetic permeability spectrum is attributed to alterations in the local structure of ferrofluids induced by electron-hole pairs resulting from the photoelectric effect in magnetite.

On the magnetization of dilute ferrofluid emulsions in shear flows

Victor Guinancio e Abicalil et al.

Summary: The study investigated the magnetization of dilute magnetic emulsions under shear flows and external magnetic fields in 3D. The results showed that in two cases, the external magnetic field did not perfectly align with the emulsion magnetization, with stronger shear rates leading to larger misalignment angles.
