Hybrid structure of ionic liquid and ZnO nano clusters for potential application in dye-sensitized solar cells

Deepak K. Pandey et al.

Summary: Utilizing density functional theory, the study investigates hybrid structures of ionic liquid and zinc oxide nano clusters for highly efficient dye-sensitized solar cells. The IL/(ZnO)(2) system demonstrates the highest efficiency due to improved electron extraction and injection into the TiO2 surface. The findings suggest the potential for designing highly efficient next-generation DSSCs.

Conductometric sensing capabilities of Rayleigh modes in ZnO/Si structures

Cinzia Caliendo

Summary: Theoretical investigation of the propagation of fundamental and higher order Rayleigh modes in c-ZnO/Si(001)<100> using numerical calculations and 3D finite element model. Exploration of dispersion curves, electroacoustic coupling coefficients, and acoustoelectric response to design a SAW sensor with enhanced conductometric sensitivity. Sensitivity peak varies with ZnO layer thickness, reaching maximum for Sezawa and R3 waves at specific layer thickness corresponding to minimum derivative of phase velocity respect to h(ZnO).
