The study found that different base types have a significant impact on the mesoporous structure of MWW zeolites, with cylindrical mesopores and slit-like pores affecting catalytic activity differently.
The effect of the base type [NaOH, tetramethylammonium hydroxide, and tetrapropylammonium hydroxide] and concentration (3-12 mmol/g) on the formation of mesopores during recrystallization of MWW zeolites was studied. It was shown that with NaOH, cylindrical mesopores are mainly formed, while with tetraalkylammonium hydroxides, slit-like pores. The effect of recrystallization on the catalytic activity of MWW zeolites in benzene alkylation with propylene was studied. It was shown that slit-like mesopores lead to an increase in activity, while cylindrical mesopores only slightly affect the catalytic properties.
