Circularly polarized light emission from a GaN micro-LED integrated with functional metasurfaces for 3D display

Xiang Gao et al.

Summary: This Letter proposes a circularly polarized (CP) light GaN micro-LED integrated with functional metasurfaces, achieving high polarization output and radiation pattern shaping by optimizing the structure parameters of the nanograting. The metasurface acts as a quarter-wave plate to control the phase delay between the polarization states of the electric wave in two orthogonal components, showing high performance for CP light emission in the integrated micro-LED.
