Smart Sensing of PSC Girders Using a PC Strand with a Built-in Optical Fiber Sensor

Summary: This paper presents a multi-functional strand with CFRP wire and built-in FBG sensor, capable of introducing prestressing force in PSC girders and sensing their static and dynamic behavior. By applying this strand to a full-scale girder specimen, it was demonstrated that it can effectively manage the prestressing force in PSC bridge structures.
