Reionization Era Bright Emission Line Survey: Selection and Characterization of Luminous Interstellar Medium Reservoirs in the z > 6.5 Universe

R. J. Bouwens et al.

Summary: The Reionization Era Bright Emission Line Survey (REBELS) is an ALMA Large Program that aims to identify and characterize luminous star-forming galaxies in the z > 6.5 universe. By scanning 40 UV-selected galaxies, REBELS has discovered bright emission lines and dust-continuum emission. These findings triple the number of known bright ISM-cooling lines at z > 6.5 and demonstrate ALMA's efficiency as a redshift machine.

The Evolution of the IR Luminosity Function and Dust-obscured Star Formation over the Past 13 Billion Years

J. A. Zavala et al.

Summary: The study presents the first results from the MORA survey, using ALMA to detect dusty star-forming galaxies. It found a steep redshift evolution of DSFGs' space density and confirmed the flattening of the IR luminosity function at faint luminosities. The study suggests that dust-obscured star formation has dominated the cosmic history for the past 12 billion years, decreasing gradually up to z=7.

The ALMA Spectroscopic Survey in the HUDF: A Search for [C ii] Emitters at 6 ≤ z ≤ 8

Bade D. Uzgil et al.

Summary: The study conducted a survey of [C ii] emission in galaxies in the Hubble Ultra Deep Field using ALMA, finding that the upper limits of [C ii] luminosity in most galaxies are consistent with existing literature. Blind searches resulted in a lower upper limit on the number density of [C ii]-bright galaxies. The research discusses the evolution of the [C ii] luminosity function at different redshifts.
