Generalization of the Circular Dichroism from Metallic Arrays That Support Bloch-Like Surface Plasmon Polaritons

Summary: The study investigates planar chiral nanohole arrays in square lattice that support Bloch-like surface plasmon polaritons, and analyzes how the system geometry and excitation contribute to circular dichroism. The dissymmetry factor is found to depend on the coupling polarization angle and in-coupling phase difference between p-and s -polarizations. By adjusting the lattice of the arrays and properly exciting Bloch-like SPPs, the upper limit of the dissymmetry factor can be reached at ±2.
