Summary: This passage discusses electron-positron pair creation near sub-Eddington accretion rate black holes and the possible dominant factors. The study shows that in M87, pair drizzle is sufficient to keep the magnetospheric charge density orders of magnitude above the Goldreich-Julian density, with pair production peaking along the jet-disk boundary.
