Prolonged Beneficial Effect of Brief Erythropoietin Peptide JM4 Therapy on Chronic Relapsing EAE

Deeya Gaindh et al.

Summary: JM4 therapy shows significant therapeutic effects on chronic relapsing EAE with improvement in clinical scores and reduced disease flareups. The therapy also leads to decreased GFAP bioluminescence in the brain and spinal cord, as well as rapid normalization of neurovascular unit permeability. The study suggests that JM4 therapy may have potential for long-term treatment of inflammatory demyelinating diseases and BLI is a useful tool for monitoring murine disease activity of the central nervous system.

Targeting the brain lesions using peptides: A review focused on the possibility of targeted drug delivery to multiple sclerosis lesions

Atefeh Rayatpour et al.

Summary: Multiple sclerosis is an inflammatory, demyelinating and neurodegenerative disease of the central nervous system, leading to permanent disability. Changes in cellular and ECM components occur over the progression of the disease, presenting challenges in drug delivery to lesions. Targeting with peptides is a novel approach that shows promise in enhancing therapeutic efficacy and reducing side effects.
