Status and Challenges of Plant-Anticancer Compounds in Cancer Treatment

Paula Garcia-Oliveira et al.

Summary: Currently, numerous studies have evaluated the anticancer properties of natural compounds derived from plants. Some promising compounds have shown potential in pre-clinical stages, while others, like vinca alkaloids and paclitaxel, have been approved for cancer treatment in clinical stages. Strategies such as nano-based formulations are being considered to overcome limitations like low solubility and negative side effects in these phytochemical drugs' development.
