Summary: A novel hydrophobic deep eutectic solvent (DES) composed of thymol and vanillin was utilized for the extraction of 16 pesticides in olive oil before GC-mu ECD analysis. The DES-based liquid-liquid solvent system was developed to clean up the complexity of oil samples. The method achieved effective results with improved sensitivity and analytical parameters.
