Alteration of lipids and amino acids in plasma distinguish schizophrenia patients from controls: A targeted metabolomics study

Yiyun Liu et al.

Summary: This study aimed to identify plasma lipid and amino acid biomarkers for schizophrenia using LC/MS-based metabolomics. It found significant dysregulation in plasma lipids and amino acids between schizophrenia patients and controls, with a selected panel showing good diagnostic performance, especially in the drug-treated group. The LC/MS/MS-based approach provides reliable data for objective diagnosis of schizophrenia.
