Persistent pollutants in Northern Gannet Morus bassanus eggs in Ireland: Levels and colony differences

Andrew Power et al.

Summary: This study compared contaminant levels in Northern Gannet eggs from two island colonies in Ireland and found differences between colonies. Despite Gannets traveling significant distances when foraging, birds from proximal breeding colonies were found to occupy similar dietary niches, indicating that dietary differences may not be the driver of differing contaminant levels between colonies.
