Hydrothermal flux and porewater geochemistry in Paleochori Bay, Milos, Greece

A. Khimasia et al.

Summary: The study found that the porewaters in Paleochori Bay can be separated into two distinct groups with different chemical characteristics, where high-Cl fluids are enriched in certain elements and low-Cl fluids are enriched in others. Isotope analyses indicate a seawater origin for the fluids with influences from meteoric water and arc magmatic water. High-resolution sampling and GPS coordinates helped determine the discharge patterns of different fluid types in the bay.
