Summary: Tendinopathy is a complex pathology of the tendon characterized by pain, decline in function, and reduced exercise tolerance. Diagnosis is mainly clinical, but sometimes pain-provoking tests and imaging are necessary. Management includes exercise programmes, therapeutic modalities, and surgical interventions but their effectiveness is still unclear. Future research should focus on understanding key functional pathways in the clinical disease and improving rehabilitation protocols.
