Influence of Salt on the Self-Organization in Solutions of Star-Shaped Poly-2-alkyl-2-oxazoline and Poly-2-alkyl-2-oxazine on Heating

Summary: The study investigated the water-salt solutions of star-shaped six-arm poly-2-alkyl-2-oxazines and poly-2-alkyl-2-oxazolines using light scattering and turbidimetry. It was found that the sensitivity of the investigated stars to salt in solution depends on the structure of the salt and polymer, as well as the salt concentration. Additionally, an increase in hydrophobicity led to a decrease in phase separation temperature, with a non-monotonic relationship between phase separation temperature and salt concentration observed in solutions with methylpyridinium p-toluenesulfonate.
