Summary: Among patients with HPV-associated oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma, the occurrence of second primaries in the contralateral tonsil was rare, and survival outcomes were promising with unilateral surgical approach. This suggests that elective contralateral tonsillectomy may not be necessary for patients with unilateral disease.
