Probing Internal Pressures and Long-Term Stability of Nanobubbles in Water

Summary: Nanobubbles in liquid exhibit intriguing properties and can be stabilized in water using a method that involves injection of high-pressure gases through a hydrophobized ceramic membrane. By increasing gas pressure and solution temperatures, bubble sizes can be reduced, as validated by two independent models. The study also developed methods to measure internal pressures and hardness of nanobubbles, with consistent predictions obtained for various nanobubbles.
