Promoted absorption of CO at high temperature by cuprous-based ternary deep eutectic solvents

Duan-Jian Tao et al.

Summary: Copper-based ternary deep eutectic solvents prepared by mixing imidazolium hydrochloride with CuCl and ZnCl2 exhibit high CO absorption capacity at high temperatures, surpassing other absorbents. These solvents can facilitate the reactive absorption of CO, allowing for effortless aminocarbonylation reactions at ambient pressure and yielding benzamides in 70-97% yields. This discovery offers a new approach to designing advanced solvents for efficient CO capture at high temperatures.

One-step synthesis of N-containing hyper-cross-linked polymers by two crosslinking strategies and their CO2 adsorption and iodine vapor capture

Lishu Shao et al.

Summary: A series of N-containing hyper-cross-linked polymers were synthesized from different monomers via one-step crosslinking reactions, exhibiting varying porosity, N content, morphology, and hydrophobicity. HCP1 and HCP3 showed good CO2 uptake, while HCP4 and HCP6 demonstrated higher I2 vapor uptake. The results suggest that porosity, especially microporosity, plays a key role in CO2 capture, while chemical structure is more important for I2 vapor adsorption.
