Inefficiency patterns in family-owned banks in Bangladesh

Mette Asmild et al.

Summary: This study analyzed the differences in inefficiency patterns between older family-dominated banks and newer non-family-owned banks in Bangladesh. While there were minimal differences in efficiency scores between the two groups, clearer distinctions were observed in inefficiency contributions from specific outputs, especially during the period of 2007-2009. This suggests potential disparities in business models and management practices between the two types of banks.

Allocating a fixed cost across decision making units with explicitly considering efficiency rankings

Feng Li et al.

Summary: Fixed cost allocation based on efficiency ranking is proposed in this paper, aiming to determine the best efficiency ranking for each DMU simultaneously. A new comprehensive satisfaction degree is defined and an iterative procedure is used to maximize satisfaction degree across all DMUs. The approach is applied to illustrate its usefulness and efficacy in a classic numerical example and an empirical study.

Dynamic evaluation on the energy and environmental performance of China's transportation sector: a ZSG-MEA window analysis

Xiyang Lei et al.

Summary: This study extends the multi-directional efficiency analysis to evaluate the energy and environmental performance of China's transportation sector in 30 provincial-level regions during 2008-2017. The findings show that the transportation sector in the east area performs the best, followed by the central area, and the west area performs the worst. CO2 emissions perform better than energy consumption, indicating that China's transportation sector pays more attention to emission reduction rather than energy conservation.
