Iridium-Catalyzed Enantioselective Unbiased Methylene C(sp3)-H Borylation of Acyclic Amides

Yuhuan Yang et al.

Summary: This study reports the enantioselective beta-C(sp(3))-H borylation of unbiased methylene C-H bonds of acyclic amides for the first time, enabled by iridium catalysis. The successful transformation relies on the careful selection of iridium precursor and chiral bidentate boryl ligands. The method shows good functional group tolerance and excellent enantioselectivities in synthesizing chiral beta-functionalized amides, with potential applications in stereospecific conversion of C-B bonds.

Directed Markovnikov hydroarylation and hydroalkenylation of alkenes under nickel catalysis

Zi-Qi Li et al.

Summary: Research on nickel-catalyzed Markovnikov-selective hydroarylation and hydroalkenylation of non-conjugated alkenes has developed a toolkit of methods that can react with various substrates under mild conditions, with regioselectivity controlled through catalyst coordination with functional groups within the substrates. Reaction conditions were adjusted for each substrate class to maximize product yield, and detailed studies shed light on the mechanism of these transformations, highlighting transmetalation as the turnover-limiting step.

Borane-catalysed dinitrogen borylation by 1,3-B-H bond addition

Anais Coffinet et al.

Summary: The study examined the borylation of ligated dinitrogen by 1,3-B-H bond addition using various hydroboranes on a W-N N unit. Different hydroboranes were found to successfully react under different reaction conditions, with some cases showing the 1,3-B-H bond addition without the need for a catalyst.
