Micromechanical modeling cyclic loading/unloading hysteresis loops of 3D needle-punched C/SiC ceramic-matrix composites

Yufeng Liu et al.

Summary: This study fabricated 3D needle-punched C/SiC composite using chemical vapor deposition and reactive infiltration method. By conducting cyclic loading/unloading tensile tests at different peak stresses, a micromechanical hysteresis constitutive relationship considering damage mechanisms of matrix cracking, interface debonding and slip, and fiber's fracture and pullout was developed. The research predicted the hysteresis loops of different types of composites and established the relationship between hysteresis behavior and microstructure damage evolution, finding that the hysteresis loops of composites depend on fiber preform and interface properties.

Monotonic and Cyclic Loading/Unloading Tensile Behavior of 3D Needle-Punched C/SiC Ceramic-Matrix Composites

Yufeng Liu et al.

Summary: This study investigated the monotonic and cyclic loading/unloading tensile behavior of four different 3D needle-punched C/SiC composites, revealing that an increase in fiber volume fraction results in higher initial tangent modulus, tensile strength, and fracture strain, while decreasing unloading residual strain, peak strain, hysteresis width, and hysteresis area in the composite materials.

Multi-components matching construction of α-[SiW11Mn(H2O)O39]6-/biacid co-doped polyaniline wrapped interstice skeletal NiCo2O4 for high-performance electromagnetic wave absorption

Na Zhang et al.

Summary: A highly effective electromagnetic wave absorber with great tunability of absorption strength and bandwidth was successfully prepared via a facile hydrothermal combined with supramolecular self-assembled method. The materials had certain electrical conductivity, reduced percolation value, equilibrated impedance matching, and effectively decreased density and equivalent permittivity. The magnetic loss provided by ISNiCo2O4 was derived from the eddy current and natural resonance, contributing to the absorbing ability of the nanocomposites.

Comparison of braking behaviors between iron- and copper-based powder metallurgy brake pads that used for C/C-SiC disc

Xu Ma et al.

Summary: This study found that iron-based and copper-based powder metallurgy brake pads, when paired with C/C-SiC brake discs, exhibited a coefficient of friction ranging between 0.35 and 0.6 under different braking conditions, with the C/C-SiC disc showing minimal wear. The wear mechanism of the Fe-based PM pads was mainly abrasion, while that of the Cu-based pair primarily relied on adhesion and fatigue peeling.
