Higher baseline interleukin-1β and TNF-α hamper antidepressant response in major depressive disorder

Francesco Benedetti et al.

Summary: This study found that certain inflammatory biomarkers, particularly IL-1 beta and TNF-alpha, have predictive value in determining response to antidepressants, with high levels of IL-1 beta predicting non-response and TNF-alpha showing significant negative effects.IL-12 weakly predicted response to antidepressants.
