Sandwich construction of chitosan/reduced graphene oxide composite as additive-free electrode material for high-performance supercapacitors

Mingming Gao et al.

Summary: The sandwich construction of chitosan/reduced graphene oxide composite was synthesized without carbonization or activation process, improving dispersion and specific surface area. Dehydration condensation between CS and rGO formed NH-C=O groups that promoted wettability and conductivity, resulting in a high specific capacitance and good rate performance when used as an additive-free electrode. Solid-state supercapacitor device with CRG electrode and lignin hydrogel electrolytes achieved high gravimetric energy densities at different power densities.
