Catalytic Reduction of Methylene Blue Dye by Copper Oxide Nanoparticles

Naceur Benhadria et al.

Summary: CuO nanoparticles were synthesized using the precipitation method and modified with SDS and CTAB surfactants. The characteristics of CuO NPs were investigated using XRD, XPS, SEM, FT-IR, and EDAX. The CuO-SDS catalyst showed the best results in the reduction of MB dye, with complete degradation achieved in 10 minutes. The reuse of CuO-SDS catalyst for five cycles proved its effectiveness in reducing MB dye.

Efficient drop reactor processing of methylene blue degradation with silver nanowire catalysts

Dwayne Chung Kim Chung et al.

Summary: The method presented in the study uses drop-based approach to facilitate the remediation of methylene blue solution via catalytic degradation with silver nanowires on a superhydrophobic substrate. The research shows that the rate of air flow through the plastron has an impact on the time required for drop removal. The study also demonstrates a method to calculate absorbance values based on the intensity spectrum of the nanowire solution to reveal the degradation progress of the MB solution by spectrometry.

Fe and Ni nanoparticles-loaded zeolites as effective catalysts for catalytic reduction of organic pollutants

Amel Mekki et al.

Summary: Three different zeolites were synthesized by hydrothermal method and used to stabilize Fe and Ni nanoparticles, followed by reduction with NaBH4. The designed nanocatalysts were effective in catalytic reduction of methylene blue and 4-nitrophenol in wastewater treatment. Characterization results showed well retained zeolite structure after immobilization of metal nanoparticles, with Ni-Y catalyst showing excellent catalytic activity.

CuNPs-loaded amines-functionalized-SBA-15 as effective catalysts for catalytic reduction of cationic and anionic dyes

Mohammed Hachemaoui et al.

Summary: This work involves the preparation of mesoporous silica SBA-15 functionalized with different amines to stabilize copper nanoparticles for catalytic reduction of dyes. The nature of the functionalized amines significantly influences the size and dispersion of copper nanoparticles, with triamine functionalized SBA-15 showing the best performance. The catalyst Cu@SBA-3 exhibited complete conversion of MB to Leuco-MB within 3 minutes and promising selectivity for the reduction of OG dye.
