Photoluminescence Blinking and Biexciton Auger Recombination in Single Colloidal Quantum Dots with Sharp and Smooth Core/Shell Interfaces

Recent advances in understanding and controlling light amplification processes have led to breakthroughs in optically pumped continuous-wave lasing and development of novel dual-function electroluminescent devices that also function as optically pumped lasers. This review evaluates the state of colloidal quantum dot lasing and discusses challenges and opportunities in the field.
