Interleukin-38 overexpression prevents bleomycin-induced mouse pulmonary fibrosis

Zhiwei Xu et al.

Summary: The overexpression of IL-38 in mice with bleomycin-induced pulmonary fibrosis reduced body weight loss and inflammation, while increasing the release of anti-inflammatory cytokines, suggesting that IL-38 may be a new strategy for the treatment of pulmonary fibrosis by regulating the balance of inflammatory cytokines.

Role of interleukins in the pathogenesis of pulmonary fibrosis

Yi Xin She et al.

Summary: Interleukins play a crucial role in the development of pulmonary fibrosis, and targeting multiple interleukins with different functions or combining with other therapies may be a future direction. Timing of intervention and understanding the roles of interleukins at different stages are critical for therapeutic strategies.
