Engineering printable composites of poly (ε-polycaprolactone) / β-tricalcium phosphate for biomedical applications

Cesar Augusto Goncalves Beatrice et al.

Summary: The incorporation of bioactive TCP into PCL results in a composite biomaterial suitable for various biomedical applications, particularly for bone regeneration scaffolds. The addition of low concentrations of TCP in the PCL matrix shows improved mechanical properties for FFF without changing the printing process. This study demonstrates the feasibility of fabricating 3D printed PCL/TCP scaffolds for bone regeneration with controlled geometry.
