Investigation of flexural performance of concrete reinforced with indented and fibrillated macro polypropylene fibers based on numerical and experimental comparison

Rouhollah Rostami et al.

Summary: The fiber/matrix interface in fiber reinforced concrete (FRC) can be enhanced by adjusting the geometry of the fiber surface, leading to improvements in flexural performance and energy absorption capacity. The finite element model used was successful in predicting the mechanical performance of FRC, demonstrating its significance for the design and optimization of concrete structures.

Flexural behaviour of carbon and glass reinforced hybrid composite pipes

Chensong Dong

Summary: This study investigates the flexural behavior of hybrid composite pipes reinforced with carbon and glass fibers through numerical modeling and validation against experimental data. The results reveal that the maximum bending loads occur at ply angles between 60 degrees and 75 degrees, and the hybrid composite pipe shows comparable failure loads to full carbon or glass fiber composite pipes.
